1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Lingo AI ("the App" or "we"). Lingo AI is an AI-powered multimodal real-time translation tool offering text translation, voice conversation translation, camera scan translation, screen translation, translator keyboard, and offline translation.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, please stop using the App immediately.
2. Description of Service
The App provides the following core services (subject to the actual released version):
- Text Translation: instant translation of typed, pasted, or copied content in multiple languages;
- Voice Translation: speech recognition, translation, and text-to-speech, including two-way real-time conversation mode;
- Camera/Scan Translation: real-time camera preview, photo capture, and gallery image OCR and translation;
- Screen Translation: recognition and translation of on-screen text in other applications;
- Translator Keyboard: system keyboard extension for real-time translation in input fields;
- Offline Translation: downloadable language packs for limited offline use;
- AI-Enhanced Features: contextual definitions, grammar tips, tone optimization, and more.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without prior notice. Free and subscription tiers may differ in available features.
3. Eligibility and Account
You must have full legal capacity to use the App. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you should read these Terms and use the App under parental or guardian supervision.
You are responsible for all activities conducted through your device when using the App and must ensure any information you provide is accurate.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
The App operates on a Freemium model. Certain premium features require a subscription or in-app purchase.
- Subscriptions and purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their respective terms;
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Manage subscriptions in your device or app store account settings;
- Prices may vary by region and promotional offers. We reserve the right to change pricing;
- Except as required by law, subscription fees are generally non-refundable. Refund requests should be submitted through the respective app store;
- Free trials (if offered) convert to paid subscriptions unless canceled before the trial ends.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload, translate, or distribute content that violates laws or public order and morals;
- Use the App for fraud, harassment, defamation, or infringement of privacy or intellectual property;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the App's source code or underlying technology;
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation, including through automated bulk requests;
- Use translations to mislead or harm others (e.g., forging official documents or credentials);
- Bypass free-tier limits or subscription verification mechanisms.
6. Translation Disclaimer
Translation results are generated by AI and automated technologies and are provided for reference only. They do not constitute professional translation, legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or suitability of translations. We are not liable for any direct or indirect losses arising from reliance on translation results. For important matters (legal documents, medical communication, business contracts, etc.), please consult a professional human translator.
7. Screen Translation and Third-Party Content
Screen translation may read text displayed in other applications solely to provide translation services. You must ensure your use of such content complies with applicable laws and third-party app terms of service.
We are not responsible for content in third-party apps and do not guarantee recognition or translation of all screen content types.
8. Intellectual Property
The App and its software, UI design, icons, documentation, and other content are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other laws.
You retain ownership of content you input or generate. You grant us a limited license to process such content as necessary to provide and improve the service.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or rent any part of the App without our written permission.
9. Privacy
We value your privacy. For details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, please see our Privacy Policy. These Terms and the Privacy Policy together form the complete agreement between you and us.
10. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time by uninstalling the App.
If you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that may harm the App, other users, or third parties, we may suspend or terminate your access without notice and without refund (except as required by law).
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties regarding continuous availability, error-free operation, or fitness for your particular needs.
We are not liable for service interruptions or feature limitations caused by network conditions, device compatibility, system permission restrictions, third-party service outages, or other factors beyond our control.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our affiliates, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use or inability to use the App, including data loss, loss of profits, or business interruption.
Our total liability to you for any claims related to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.
13. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. For material changes, we will notify you through in-app notices or other appropriate means. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding conflict of law rules), unless mandatory laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
Disputes arising from these Terms or the App should first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, either party may bring a lawsuit in a court of competent jurisdiction at our location.
